Intermediate Care Facility (ICF)

Here at Ralph Scott Lifeservices, we believe that everyone should have an opportunity to live the life they choose. We empower individuals to make their own decisions, to set goals for their future and guide and encourage them toward achieving their dreams. Staff help individuals with managing finances, taking classes if they choose, everyday living skills, securing employment and caring for their homes and living spaces to foster independence.

Intermediate Care Facility (ICF)

1.    Homelike Environment: The design and atmosphere of intermediate care homes are intended to resemble a home rather than an institutional setting. This approach is meant to create a comfortable and familiar living space for individuals.

2.    24-Hour Supervision: Intermediate care homes are staffed 24 hours a day/7 days a week to provide continuous supervision and support for individuals. This is particularly important for individuals who may have safety and behavioral needs or limitations that require constant attention.

3.    Support in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Individuals in group living settings receive assistance with activities of daily living, which may include tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and medication management. The goal is to enable individuals to maintain or improve their independence in these fundamental aspects of daily life.

4.    Integration of Physical Health Care: Intermediate care homes go beyond basic supervision by incorporating physical health care services. This includes nursing care to address medical needs, nutritional support and psychology services.

5.    Individualized Care Plans: Individuals in intermediate care homes have individualized care plans tailored to their specific needs and preferences. These plans may address medical, functional, and social aspects to provide holistic care.

6.    Skill Development: Group living environments may offer opportunities for individuals to develop and enhance life skills. This could include training in budgeting, cooking, communication, and other skills that contribute to increased independence and self-sufficiency.

7.    Social and Recreational Activities: Beyond healthcare, intermediate care homes may offer social and recreational activities to enhance the quality of life for each individual. Engaging in social interactions and participating in enjoyable activities contribute to the overall well-being of individuals in these settings.
